LIV Beautifully at CHOP 

CHOP’s Salon Services was created in 2016 based on requests from caregivers, patients and staff for basic salon services within the walls of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).   Staffed on a completely volunteer basis three days per week, all salon services are complimentary, and
performed in inpatient rooms to cut kids’ hair, as well as offer services for parents who don’t want to (or can’t) leave their bed.

By providing normalizing services to long-term patients and their caregivers, the program continues to have incredible impacts on the patient and family experience. They are a fantastic team but have not received any gifts to date to help sustain their services. Support for this initiative will help the Salon Services Program in a big way!

The team explained that patients in oncology need a few specific items, which are packaged as Our LIV CARE Bags.

LIV Care Bags for Oncology In-patient care include the following: Chapstick, Body Lotions, Nail Polish, Soft tissue packs, Earphones/earbuds, Blank journals, and colorful pens.
